A Day in the Life

I've been really busy working my business. If you want to know how I spend my time, here's what a typical day looks like for me:

I spend a good portion of my day on marketing my business.  I make phone calls to prospective customers, call local shops to see if they' be interested in carrying my jewelry (I am in 7 stores now!), search for local craft fairs, and I use social media to promote my business.  In case you didn't know, I am on facebook, twitter, instagram, pinterest and tumbler as Bucci Handmade Jewelry.  I have found that the social media has helped give me a lot more exposure which has also lead to more sales.  Of course, I spend some time each day creating as well.  After all, this is where my passion lies!  I try to create at least a few new pieces each day, or at least one, if it is very complex.  I don't often have difficulties coming up with new ideas, although I have had "creative block" as I like to call it, similar to writers block.  But more often than not, I have way more ideas in my head then I have time to create.  So therefore, many of them, don't even make it to the design table. This is frustrating, and I try to at least write them down for a future creation.  Sadly though, many are lost.  I thank God everyday for blessing me with my creative imagination.  I never take it for granted.  Finally, I am usually also preparing for an upcoming event or two.  This month, I have a jewelry party that I am hosting at my house, along with two other friends who sell essential oils and bags.  I'm exited about this, I think it will be a lot of fun.  I also have an equine event I am doing on June 21st, so I will sure to have lots of horse jewelry for that. (Horses- one of my former passions in life!)  And finally, I will be finishing up the month with another home party the last week of June.  I am also working on my July and August schedules.  If you are local and are interested in hosting a fun, unique home party, contact me! I am not a salesy person.  I usually set up a great display and talk about my pieces.  People get to touch, feel, and try on their favorite jewelry.  It's always a good time! Plus, I offer hostess credit for anyone hosting a party!

Well, that's it in a nut shell! I love what I do and am grateful for the connections I have made doing this thing.  Its a fantastic journey! Thank you for following me!

So I finally broke down and created a blog! It's something I've been meaning to do for quite some time, but I have to be honest.  It's hard to take time away from my true passion, which is creating jewelry to write about it! But I think this will help with my creativity actually.  There are times when I have to step back from the designing table so that I'm better able to design when I come back.

I'm getting geared up for an event this weekend, Apple Blossom Festival in Red Hook.  It is an outside event and I am praying the rain holds out.  Last year, it rained horribly on this event and it wasn't pretty.  Besides being in production mode, I am in the process of creating a mailing list to bring with me on Saturday.  I'm going to be offering a giveaway at the event to anyone who signs up for my new newsletter.  And come to think of it, I might have to do something similar for my blog!

Well, I'm going to keep this short and sweet for my first post.  Please come back, because I plan on adding all the latest insider information on my jewelry here first!
